The Zen of Practicing Gratitude with Your Children

Gratitude. Maybe you refer to it as a virtue, a skill, or character strength. Regardless of what you call it, gratitude is one of the most important values we can teach our children.

More and more research is showing that children, adolescents, and adults who regularly practice gratitude are healthier and happier than those who do not.

As a mother, I want my children to be healthy and happy. However, I also want them to know that there is a greater purpose to life than just being happy. Life is not just about me, or you, or us.

Your life is meaningful and has purpose. Cultivating a daily practice of gratitude can help our children, and us, feel part of something bigger than ourselves.

There are several ways to develop gratitude in our children.

Journaling is a concrete, routine, and trackable approach to build this habit.

This is partly (1/3) why I created this Gratitude Journal for Kids. My daughter was a significant motivating factor (2/3) and my desire to give back (3/3) was another.
